Box Score Conway, Ark. - The Cougar Softball team capped off a perfect 3-0 weekend at the Central Baptist College Invitational with a 25-0 victory over Ecclesia (Ark.) College on Saturday afternoon. With the win, Columbia improves to 5-2 on the year.
The Cougars scored a pair of runs in the first inning on a two-run single by
Taylor Atwood before erupting for an NAIA-record 23 runs in top of the second. Columbia sent 29 batters to the plate and collected 16 hits in the inning to take a commanding 25-0 lead and earn their third straight win.
Amber Boehme got the win in the circle for the Cougars, going two innings and striking out three. Atwood led the Columbia offense with a career-high four hits and five RBI, while eight other players had at least one hit.
The Cougars will be back in action at the Gulf Shores Invitational from March 7
th - 9
th.
