Box Score Columbia, Mo. - For the fifth-consecutive match, the 9th-ranked Columbia College Volleyball team won a 3-0 sweep at home, defeating Evangel University tonight by scores of 25-22, 25-22 and 25-17. The win moves the Cougars to 9-0, and drops the Crusaders to 6-3 on the year.
The Cougars started off strong, leading for most of the set before the Crusaders took the lead 16-14 midway through. The Columbia squad gave two points to the Crusaders with two attack errors, but answered back when a service error occurred by Evangel, and two kills by
Paula Rosa and a kill by
Brooke Simpson tied it up 18-18. The Cougars were able to close the deal winning the match 25-22. The second match was a back and forth battle between the two squads, but the Cougars were able to pull off the set win 25-22. Columbia College picked up momentum in the third set dominating the Crusaders and winning set three 25-17.
Senior
Brooke Simpson led the Cougar attack laying down 19 kills and picking up 13 digs, making this her seventh match of the season in double digits. Senior

Lydie van Deursen dished out 35 assists.
The Cougars return to the court on Tuesday, September 9th, as they travel to Rolla, Mo. for a 7 p.m. match-up with the Miners of Missouri S&T.
