Box Score Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia Cougar volleyball team rebounded from a first game loss to take the four-game match over American Midwest Conference member Lindenwood University-Belleville tonight in Columbia by scores of 16-25, 25-17, 25-20 and 25-17. The No. 7 ranked Cougars improve to 19-2 on the season and 3-0 in AMC play while the Lynx fall to 9-7 overall and 2-2 versus league foes.

Despite both teams registering 13 kills each in the first game, the Lynx did it with just one attack error.  The Cougars struggled, notching eight attack errors and three service errors, handing the visitors 11 points.  Lindenwood-Belleville matched Columbia point for point at the beginning but took control of the game mid-way through and pulled away for the nine-point win.

The Cougars charged out to a five point lead early in game two and continued to build on the lead throughout while tripling their hitting percentage from the first game. Columbia carried the momentum from game two into the third and fourth games and was able to gain the advantage and keep it, never allowing the Lynx to make a run the remainder of the contest. 

Paula Rosa led all attackers with 16 kills and 15 digs.  Brooke Simpson chipped in 10 kills and 10 digs while Lydie van Deursen dished out 35 assists and posted 16 digs.  Senior Libero Sarah Schwentker had three service aces for the Cougars and 11 digs. 

Stephanie Cathcart led the Lynx with 12 kills and three blocks.

Columbia returns to the court on Monday, September 29^th when they travel to St. Louis, Missouri to take on the Hornets of Harris-Stowe State University.  Match time is set for 7:00 p.m.
