Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Closes out Regular Season with a Win; Stays Perfect in AMC Play

Hannibal, Mo. - The 12th-ranked Columbia men's soccer team defeated Hannibal-LaGrange University 1-0 on the road this evening in their final game of the 2015 regular season. With the win, the Cougars improve to 16-2 overall and 11-0 in the American Midwest Conference (AMC).

The game remained scoreless until Edin Campara found the net in the 53rd minute of play to put the Cougars ahead 1-0. Zachary Felz was credited with the assist on the goal. Campara's seventh goal of the season would mark the lone tally of the match, allowing Columbia to pull away with their 13th straight win dating back to Sept. 14th.

The Cougars outshot the Trojans 16 (eight on-goal) to four (three on-goal) for the match. Junior goalkeeper Iain McTurk ends the regular season with a perfect 13-0 record and registered three saves in the game.

Columbia will be back in action when the AMC Postseason Tournament kicks off on Saturday, November 7th at 6:00 p.m. Columbia, the No. 1 seed, will host tournament play at R. Marvin Owens Field. With the regular season wrapping up the Cougars will wait for all the AMC games to be played before finding out whom they will play.
