St. Louis, Mo. – The Cougar women's basketball team picked up a road victory over conference opponent Harris-Stowe State University by a score of 70-50 on Thursday night. Columbia improves to 16-8 overall and 12-6 in the American Midwest Conference (AMC) with the win.
For the second straight game
Corri Hamilton recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Ashley Fisher and
Caprese Marshall also ended the night in double figures with 13 and 10 points respectively.
Kayla Washington pulled down 10 rebounds to help Columbia finish with a 46-27 advantage on the boards and Hamilton matched her season high with five assists. For the game, the Cougars shot 43 percent from the field while holding the Hornets to just 37 percent shooting and forcing 24 turnovers. Harris-Stowe was led by Mia Wesley with a game-high 20 points.
The Cougars will be back in action on Saturday, February 14
th when they host AMC opponent St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Game time is set for 2:00 pm at the Arena of Southwell Complex.
