St. Louis, Mo. - The 12
th-ranked Cougar volleyball team defeated American Midwest Conference (AMC) opponent St. Louis College of Pharmacy 3-0 on the road this evening. With the win, Columbia College moves to 11-4 on the year and 3-0 in conference play while the Eutectics drop to 0-7 and 0-2 in league play.
Columbia made relatively quick work of the Eutectics, winning the match by scores of 25-12, 25-10 and 25-13.
The Cougar's hit .614 while limiting the Eutectics to a .076 hitting percentage for the match. AMC Attacker of the Week,
Penny Liu led the Cougars with a .923 hitting efficiency and tallied a match-high 12 kills.
Eirini Chatziefstratiadou and
Maria Franco also chipped in 10 kills apiece. Conference Defender of the week,
Mikah Simpson contributed 11 digs and AMC Setter of the week,
Sashiko Heredia led all players with 29 assists.
The Cougars will be back in action on Tuesday, September 29
th when they travel to conference foe Lindenwood University-Belleville. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m. in Belleville, Ill.
