Columbia, Mo. – The 25
th-ranked Columbia College women's soccer team dropped a close contest this afternoon, falling to Ottawa University 2-1 at R. Marvin Owens Field. The loss moves the Cougars to 7-2 overall while the Braves improve to 5-2.
Columbia got on the board first, scoring in the 19
th minute when
Tiffany Weaver assisted an
Erin Collier goal, her first of the season. Ottawa tied up the ball game ten minutes later as Morgan Trupp scored on a corner kick.
The Braves put in the game winner in the 57
th minute and held the Cougars from there.
Ottawa outshot the Cougars 22-9. Junior
Flavia Rosado (7-2) took the loss in goal with eight saves.
Columbia will return to action tomorrow, Sunday, September 27
th when they host non-conference opponent Ashford University. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m. at R. Marvin Owens Field.
