Box Score Batesville, Mo. – The 4
th-ranked Columbia College men's basketball team picked up another conference victory tonight, defeating Lyon College by a score of 85-57 on the road. The victory improves the Cougars to 19-2 on the season and 12-1 in conference play while the Scots fall to 6-12 overall and 3-10 in league play with the loss.
The Cougars carried a 44-32 advantage into the halftime break after shooting 52 percent from the field and limiting Lyon to 38 percent shooting.
Travis Vogt led all players with 13 points while Riley Jenkins led the Scots with 12 points.
Columbia totally dominated the second half, leading by as many as 29 on their way to victory.
The Cougars finished shooting 53 percent from the field while holding the Scots to a 43 percent clip. Columbia also took advantage of 20 turnovers by Lyon to score 21 points. Vogt led all players with 18 points to go along with five rebounds while
Nic Reynolds and
Nathan Biggs chipped in 16 and 13 points, respectively.
Jackson Dubinski and
Zach Rockers rounded out the scoring with 11 points apiece. The Scots were led by Jenkins with 12 points.
Columbia will return to the court on Thursday, January 28
th when they host AMC opponent Harris-Stowe State University. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. at
Bob Burchard Court at Southwell Complex.
