Parkville, Mo. – Tonight the 13
th ranked Columbia College women's soccer team traveled to Parkville, Missouri, to take on rival Park University in the AMC Game of the Week. The Cougars were defeated for the first time this season in a 2-1 loss to the Pirates and drop to 8-1-2 on the season.
The Pirates kicked off the scoring in the game picking up their first goal 13 minutes into the contest when Emily Key was able to beat the Cougars keeper off of a pass from Emma Chatterton. However, Columbia College bounced back just two minutes later when

Christina Conley off of a corner kick who headed the ball into the back of the net for her fourth goal of the season.
Columbia College continued to apply the pressure in the first half but was unable to beat the Pirates keeper for the rest of the period. Emily Key added her second goal of the game in the 27
th minute when
Flavia Rosado was called for a foul inside the box. Key took the penalty kick and calmly placed it into the lower left corner of the net to put the Pirates ahead 2-1 at the halftime break. The Cougars outshot the Pirates 7-3 in the first half and had three shots on goal.
In the second half, Columbia College was unable to get anything going. They applied heavy pressure to the Pirates defense but could not find the back of the net. Amy Roskell, the Park University goalie, made five saves in the match including two late in the second half to solidify the victory for the Pirates.
Flavia Rosado was in goal for the Cougars tonight as she picks up her first loss of the season. The AMC Defensive Player of the Week recorded two saves in the match.
The Cougars are back in action on Saturday, October 1
st when they travel to Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, to take on Williams Baptist College in an AMC matchup. The game is set to start at 11 a.m.
