Hannibal, Mo. – This afternoon the 13th ranked Columbia College women's basketball team was back in action when they traveled to Hannibal, Missouri, to take on Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) University in an AMC matchup. The Cougars were able to defeat the Trojans by a final score of 75-56 and improved to 20-4 on the season and 14-4 in conference play.

The Cougars came out in the first half and had trouble stopping the Trojans on the defensive end. Each side exchanged baskets throughout the first quarter and neither side was able to break away from the other. With the Trojans leading 18-17 at the start of the second, Columbia College picked up the tempo on the offensive end and went on a 9-2 run midway through the period that led to a 35-30 halftime lead for the Cougars.

Columbia College continued to push the tempo at the start of the second half and opened the third quarter with another 9-2 run to take a 12 point lead in the game. The Trojans did their best to keep up with Columbia as the half progressed but the Cougars showed no signs of slowing down on the offensive end. Columbia College held an 18 point lead to start the final quarter and were able to close out the Trojans in the final 10 minutes of the game to solidify their third straight victory.
