Columbia, Mo. - The American Midwest Conference has announced its baseball Player of the Week awards for the week ending March 12, 2017. For the second straight week, Columbia College junior
Andrew Warner has earned the AMC Player of the Week honors.
Warner, a 6-2 catcher from Lees Summit, Missouri, helped the Cougars to a 4-0 week in which Columbia's Offense scored at least eight runs in each game. He hit .475 (8-for-17) with two doubles, a home run, four runs scored and 11 RBIs. Warner was also successful on his only stolen base attempt of the week, and through the end of the weekend, he leads the AMC with 39 hits, 7 homeruns, 34
RBIs, and 70 total bases.
The Cougars are back in action Tuesday, March 14
th when they host Park (Mo.) University in an AMC doubleheader. The first game is set to start at 1 p.m. with the second game to immediately follow.
