Columbia, Mo. – This afternoon the NAIA national office released the Softball Coaches' Top 25 Preseason Poll for the upcoming season. The Cougars, who finished fourth in last year's NAIA Softball World Series, will start the season ranked second marking the highest ranking to start the season in program history.
Columbia College returns 12 players from last year's squad that finished with a 48-7 record including the reigning AMC Player of the Year, Molly Carter, and two Second Team All-AMC selections, Alexandra Linck and Allyson Metz. In addition to 12 returning players, they also brought in seven newcomers including five freshman and two transfer students.
The Cougars will kick off the 2018 campaign on Friday, February 9th when they travel to Fort Worth, Texas, to compete in the NAIA Classic.
