Conway, Ark. – The Columbia College women's soccer team competed against the Central Baptist (Ark.) College Mustangs in an AMC matchup today where the Cougars defeated the host squad 7-0 to improve to 9-3 on the season and 5-0 in conference play.
The Cougars got off to a great start as
Isabella Govero netted her first goal within the first two minutes of the game. Govero kicked in her second goal of the half at the 15
th minute. Columbia continued the attack as they increased their lead further with goals by
Kelsey Mirts (18 minute mark) and
Lucy Kingsley (20
th minute). The Cougars added another goal before the half, this time from
Brooke Schneider at the 27
th minute mark.
Columbia added to their lead with a goal by
Reese Hamilton just minutes into the second frame. The Cougars scored one final goal from
Maddie Ballard before securing the 7-0 win.
Kate Marshall and
Rileigh Huffman shared time in goal for the Cougars.
The team will play next on Wednesday, October 16
th when they are set to host the Lindenwood University-Belleville Lynx in an AMC contest. The game will kick off at 4:30 p.m. at R. Marvin Owens Field.
