Cougars Compete in Springfield

Springfield, Mo. - The Cougar bowling team traveled to Springfield, Missouri this weekend to compete in the Andy B's Collegiate Invitational hosted by Drury University.  This weekend's event was two tournaments in one location with Columbia finishing third and second, respectively. 

The first tournament was the team event which consisted of seven regular games with seven teams. The Cougars bowled well in the team event, averaging 845 for the seven games and coming in third place behind Drury University and Ottawa University.  The All-Tournament team was announced on Sunday morning where Columbia's Katie Leonard tied for second place with an average of 183 for the seven games. 
 
The second day had five teams competing in seven Baker matches.  The second tournament started and the Cougars came out of the box bowling very well and took the lead.  They held the lead for three blocks before the host team, Drury University, overcame the Cougars and won the tournament, leaving Columbia in second place.

The Cougars will travel to Indianapolis, Indiana on October 19 and 20 to compete in the Western Shootout.  There will be 34 of the country's best women's teams competing for the title.
