St. Louis, Mo. – The 2
nd ranked Columbia College men's soccer team competed against the Harris-Stowe State University Hornets in an AMC matchup this afternoon in St. Louis. The Cougars defeated the Hornets 1-0, remaining undefeated on the season at 14-0 and 8-0 in conference play.
The Cougars posted 12 shots, six on goal, and three corner kicks through the first scoreless 45 minutes, while the Hornets had just two shots and only one on net.
The Cougars tough defense and explosive offensive created the opportunities for them to score but it was Harris-Stowe's own-goal at the 53
rd minute mark that sealed the deal. Columbia put up 23 shots and 11 on goal by the end of regulation.
Ryan Harrisskitt was in goal for Columbia and recorded two saves.
The Columbia College men's soccer team will play next on Tuesday, October 22
nd when they are set to host the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in another AMC contest. The game will kick off at 7:00 p.m. at R. Marvin Owens Field.
