Columbia, Mo. – The 2
nd ranked Columbia College men's soccer team took the field tonight as they hosted the St. Louis College of Pharmacy Eutectics in an AMC matchup. The Cougars defeated the Eutectics 2-0, breaking the previous program record recording 15 consecutive wins, while also remaining undefeated on the season at 15-0 and 9-0 in conference play.
It was a tight match between the Eutectics and the Cougars despite Columbia having majority of the possession, keeping the ball on St. Louis College of Pharmacy's side of the field. The Eutectic's defense was at the top of their game as the goalkeeper had seven saves on the Cougars 35 shots. The first goal of the game was an own goal made by St. Louis College of Pharmacy at the 54
th minute. At the 85 minute mark, freshmen
Nick Brandt chipped one right over the St. Louis College of Pharmacy goalkeeper from the 20 yard line to secure the victory.
Ryan Harrisskitt was in goal for Columbia and had two saves on the night.
The Columbia College men's soccer team will play next on Saturday, October 26
th when they travel to Hannibal, Missouri to play against the Hannibal-LaGrange University Trojans in another AMC contest. The game will kick off at 3:30 p.m.
