Columbia, Mo. –
The Columbia College women's soccer hosted St. Louis College of Pharmacy in an AMC matchup this afternoon. The Cougars completed the shutout when they defeated the Eutectics 10-0 and improve to 12-3 and 9-0 in conference play.
The Cougars were surrounding the goal attempting to find an open spot when
Allison Floyd crossed it to
Kelsey Mirts to find the back of the net at the 16 minute mark. Columbia then added back-to-back goals from
Reese Hamilton at the 21 minute mark followed by a corner kick from
Emma Laney who found
Elisa Vega at the 22 minute mark to extend their lead. At the 30 minute mark,
Jewel Morelan crossed it to Mirts for her second goal of the game.
The Cougars wasted no time in the second half as
Megan Floyd scored her first goal of the season in the 50
th minute mark.
Chloe Hall then found freshmen
Isabella Govero in the 59
th minute to add the sixth goal of the game. Govero's corner kick was punched out by the Eutectics goalkeeper and landed right on
Kristen Graser's foot to add another goal to her tally. Governo then completed the hat trick in déjà vu style as
Ellie Hilton found her in both the 84 and 85 minute mark.
Mallory Holzer added the tenth goal in the 87
th minute to finalize the victory.
Kate Marshall started in goal for the Cougars and was relieved by
Rileigh Huffman at the 64 minute mark.
The Columbia College women's soccer team will be on the road for another AMC matchup on Saturday, October 26 when they play against the Hannibal-LaGrange University Trojans. The game will kick off at 1 p.m. in Hannibal, Mo.
