Columbia, Mo. – The seventh ranked Columbia College volleyball team was back on the court as they hosted the Stephens (Mo.) College Stars in an AMC matchup. The Cougars defeated the Stars 3-0 (25-14, 25-8, 25-10) to move to 24-3 on the season and 8-1 in conference play.
The Cougars came prepared to play tonight as they had 16 kills in the first set for a 0.519 hitting percentage, tallied 11 kills in the second set for a 0.421 hitting percentage, and then followed that with 11 kills in the third set for a 0.286 hitting percentage. Columbia was able to rack up 12 aces in the match and eight blocks which outdid the Stars one ace.
Kiersten Anderson and
Bailee Ulery led Columbia tonight with 10 kills apiece. In addition,
Luisa Ferreira had 32 assists, and
Ellie Rockers had seven digs.
The Cougars will be back on the court on Friday, November 1 when they host the Lyon (Ark.) College Scots in an AMC matchup. The match will be played at Stephens College in Silverthorne Arena at 4 p.m.
