Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia Cougar men's basketball team was back on the court tonight when they traveled to compete against the Missouri Valley College Vikings. The Cougars fell to the Vikings 79-72, moving them to 2-3 on the season.
The Cougars traded the lead six times with Missouri Valley throughout the first half, making just 12 of their 31 field goals. The Cougars held their largest lead of eight points midway through the frame but the Vikings ended the half leading 38-34.
The Vikings went on an 11-3 run and did not relinquish the lead the remainder of the contest, holding their largest lead of 15 over the Cougars.
