Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia Cougar men's basketball team hosted the Baptist Bible College Patriots tonight in a nonconference matchup with the Cougars coming out on top, defeating the Patriots 105-65. Columbia moves to 3-3 on the season.
Less than ten seconds into the game, senior
Braden Wendel made his way to the basket to score first for Columbia. The Patriots stayed close to the Cougars until midway through the half when Columbia started to pull away from Baptist Bible, heading to the locker room with a 15-point lead while shooting 91% from the free throw line.
In the second half, the Cougars extended their lead from the first half, scoring almost double that of the Patriots with 61 points while holding Baptist Bible at just 33 points.
Key Moment
Columbia pushed their lead in the final 15 minutes of the game going on a 36-16 run to give them their 40-point lead that they kept for the remainder of play.
