Cougars Clip Owls

Columbia, Mo. - Tonight the 13th ranked Columbia College women's basketball team competed against the William Woods (Mo.) University Owls in an AMC matchup. The Cougars defeated the Owls by a final score of 71-54, improving their season to 8-2 and 4-0 in conference play.

William Woods made the first move to take the lead, but the Cougars returned the favor with a 10-0 run and pushed their lead over the Owls to 12 early on. Columbia continued their strong presence and pushed their lead to 18 before settling on a halftime score of 38-24 in favor of the Cougars.

The Owls put up the first basket in the third quarter but the Cougars answered back with a 7-2 run. In the fourth quarter William Wood did their best to fend off Columbia, by closing the gap between them but ultimately the Cougars kept their fire and claimed the victory.
