Columbia, Mo. - Tonight the 13
th ranked Columbia College women's basketball team competed against the Park (Mo.) University Pirates in an AMC matchup with the Cougars defeating the Pirates by a final score of 68-62. The win improves their season record to 8-2, and 4-0 in conference play.
Park took the early advantage, holding their largest lead over Columbia at 10. Despite the Cougars making all eight of their free throw attempts in the second quarter, Park held the advantage headed into the locker room, 39-31.
Both teams came out of the break on fire. Park scored the first two baskets before Columbia went on a 5-1 run to keep the Pirates on their toes. Columbia outscored the home team by 11 in the final 10 minutes to claim the victory.
