Cougar eSports Victorious in Week 3

Columbia, Mo. – The second ranked Cougars defeated Michigan Technological University, 2-0, Saturday afternoon. The Columbia varsity team is now 2-0 on the season.  
 
The Cougars were led by Joshua Atkins with his outstanding performance on the champion Xin Zhao. Atkins only collected two deaths throughout the entire series, giving him the highest Kill/Death/Assist (KDA) on the team at 14.5, followed closely by Zachary Lapham with a 13.2 KDA.
 
Columbia's bot lane dominated heavily in both games. In game one, Evan Lawson attributed 27% of the teams overall damage while only posting one death. The amount of pressure Columbia focused on the bot lane attributed to 45% of Michigan Tech's team deaths. Game two resulted in an even larger percentage of teams deaths from bot lane, which climbed to 57%. An in-depth breakdown of Saturday's match stats can be found here.
 
The Cougar Junior Varsity qualified for the CSL Playoffs over the weekend. The team qualified through the spring group stage with an undefeated record of 4-0. The playoffs will consist of the top 64 teams from the Winter Invitational combined with the top 64 teams from the spring group stage.
