Cougar Lacrosse Remains Undefeated at Home

Columbia, Mo. – This afternoon the Columbia College men's lacrosse team hosted the University of Dallas Crusaders. The Cougars took care of business, winning 16-1. Columbia is now 5-1 on the season.
 
The game started out with both teams struggling to maintain control of the ball. Three minutes into the first quarter, Trevor Doren scored the first goal of the game. The Cougars momentum built from that as they scored nine more goals in the first quarter. Cooper Heck led the way as he scored three goals, Doren added another goal, Tyler Parrott and JT Huez scored two apiece, and Sam Crum added one goal. Dallas and Columbia College were evenly matched in the second quarter as neither team was able to score for the first nine minutes. Parrot started Columbia College rolling in the third as he added two more goals while Sam Crum added one, and Henry Stauffer scored his first goal of the game. The Cougars headed into the locker room for halftime with a 14-0 lead.
 
Cooper Heck pushed his way to the net in the third and scored the only goal of the quarter. Cougars lead was now 15-0 going into the final quarter of the game. Carson Morrisey was the sole scorer for Columbia College in the final quarter to extend Columbia College's lead 16-0. The Crusaders finally made it on the board in the final minute of the game, but there was no coming back for the University of Dallas as Columbia College secured the win 16-1.
 
Ty Hosler was the starting goalie and Evan Richardson came in the third quarter as they recorded a combined 4 saves for the Cougars.
 
The lacrosse team is back in action when they travel to Leavenworth, Kansas to play against the University of Saint Mary in a KCAC matchup Wednesday, April 3rd. The game is set to start at 7 p.m.
