Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Cougars Take Down Bruins, 1-0

Omaha, Neb. – The Columbia College women's soccer team traveled to Omaha, Nebraska to take on the Bellevue University Bruins in a nonconference matchup Wednesday night. The Cougars defeated the Bruins by a final score of 1-0 to improve to 1-1 on the season.

The Cougars held control of the ball for a majority of play throughout the first half, logging 12 shots, including nine on goal. Despite their dominance, Columbia was not able to find the back of the net as the Bellevue keeper continued to keep the game scoreless with her play.

Columbia stayed aggressive in the second half of play as they took every opportunity they could to find a good look at the goal. At the 65 minute mark the Cougars put pressure on the Bruins as Allison Floyd was able to find Molly Klein for her first goal of the season. Columbia continued to control the ball, but Klein's goal proved to be enough to overcome Bellevue and solidify Columbia's first victory of the season.

Victoria Heus got the win in goal for the Cougars, picking up one save in the contest.

The women's soccer team is back in action on Sunday, September 1st when they host the Ottawa (Kan.) University Braves in another nonconference matchup. The game is set to kick off at 1:00 p.m.
