Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College men's soccer team was back in action tonight when they hosted 24
th ranked Benedictine (Kan.) College. The 11
th ranked Cougars defeated the Ravens by a final score of 1-0 and are now 5-0 on the season.
The Cougars kept the Ravens defense busy in the first half with seven shots compared to Benedictine's three shots.
Mako Makoanyane scored his second goal of the season as he hit one in just to the right of the Ravens goalkeeper at the 33 minute mark to give the Cougars the lead.
Columbia stayed aggressive in the second half with 11 shots while Benedictine only had three shots to secure the win and remain undefeated on the season.
Ryan Harrisskitt was in goal for Columbia, posting two saves on the night.
The men's soccer team is back in action on Friday, September 13
th when they host Oklahoma Wesleyan University. The game is set to kick off at 7:00 p.m. on R. Marvin Owens Field.
