Fulton, Mo. – The 4
th ranked Columbia College men's soccer team was on the road in Fulton, Missouri as they took on the William Woods University Owls in an AMC matchup. The Cougars topped the Owls 1-0. Columbia improves to 8-0 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.
With the game underway, each team was battling to be the first on the board. They remained at a stalemate for most of the first half, until
Caden Castello connected with
Ximo Gil who found the net to put the Cougars up 1-0 with under 15 minutes left in the half. Columbia held the lead at halftime.
In the second half the Cougars stayed steady on defense, limiting the Owls attempts to score. Columbia continued to attack, but they were unable to add an insurance goal to their lead as the second half played out. The first half goal proved to be all the Cougars needed as they shut out the Owls 1-0 for the victory.
Ryan Harrisskitt was in goal tonight as he recorded four saves on the night.
The team will be back in action on Friday, September 27
th when they travel to Henderson, Tennessee to take on the Freed-Hardeman University Lions in an AMC contest. The game will kickoff at 7 p.m.
