Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Owls, 4-0

Fulton, Mo. – The Columbia College women's soccer team was on the road in Fulton, Missouri as they took on the William Woods University Owls in an AMC matchup. The Cougars defeated the Owls 4-0. Columbia is now 5-3 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.

The game remained scoreless for a little over 20 minutes before the Cougars were able to find the net and take the lead 1-0 off of Elisa Vega's goal. About 12 minutes later, Jewel Morelan knocked one in, assisted by Isabella Govero, to take a two-goal lead. Columbia held their lead at halftime 2-0.

In the second half, the Cougars stayed consistent as they punched in two more goals including a header from Kelsey Mirts off of a corner kick from Emma Laney, and the fourth goal coming from the foot of Reese Hamilton. Columbia shutout the Owls 4-0.

Kate Marshall was in goal tonight as she recorded two saves.

The team will be back in action on Friday, September 27th when they travel to Henderson, Tennessee to take on the Freed-Hardeman University Lions in an AMC contest. The game will kickoff at 5 p.m.
