Omaha, Neb. – The Columbia College Women's bowling team traveled to Omaha, Nebraska this past weekend to compete in the Midland Warriors Collegiate Classic. The Cougars competed two teams in the event, the Navy team competing in the varsity division and the Silver team competing in the junior varsity division. The Navy team finished tied for fifth and the Silver team tied for fourth.
The two-day event is divided with the first day consisting of six regular games and the second day has the teams bowling 16 baker games. The varsity team compiled 7,808 pins over two days, putting them in fourth place and into the match play round. They had four out the five players place in the top 25 out of 108 bowlers after the first day.
The junior varsity team compiled a total of 6,954 pins over the event placing them third out of six teams.
Match play began on Sunday morning with both teams falling in their first best-of-three match.
The team returns to the lanes on October 12 and 13 when they travel to Springfield, Mo. to compete in the Andy B's Classic hosted by Drury University.
