Siloam Springs, Ark. – The Columbia College women's soccer team traveled to Siloam Springs, Arkansas to compete against the 13
th ranked John Brown University Golden Eagles in a nonconference matchup. Columbia fell 1-0 in the contest and is now 3-2 on the season.
It was a defensive battle from the opening, with only two shots on goal in the first 45 minutes of play. Columbia tallied just one shot on goal in the second half as the Golden Eagle defense dominated. The Cougars were able to keep John Brown off the board until the 69
th minute when a cross from the right side found its way to the feet of JBU's Kristen Howell just four yards out for what would end up being the game winner.
Victoria Heus played all 90 minutes in goal for Columbia, recording five saves.
The women's soccer team is back in action on Wednesday, September 11
th when they play host to the 5
th ranked Benedictine (Kan.) College Ravens in another nonconference matchup. The game is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. on R. Marvin Owens Field.
