St. Louis, Mo. – The 15
th ranked Columbia College women's basketball team traveled to St. Louis, Missouri to compete against the Harris-Stowe State University Hornets for a conference matchup tonight. Columbia was victorious against the Hornets defeating them 63-44 to move to 16-3 on the season and 12-1 in conference.
The Cougars had a strong start against the Hornets keeping them below ten while collecting 21 points by the end of the first quarter. Despite the second quarter being more physical, Columbia pushed their way across the court and racked up another 14 points to head to the locker room with a 19-point lead.
The Hornets picked up the pace in the third quarter, but the Cougars defense kept up with them the entire time. Harris-Stowe started making their way into the game in the final quarter, scoring five more points than Columbia, but the Cougars were too far gone and claimed the win.
