Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Cougars Fall to Owls in Tight Matchup

Fulton, Mo. – This evening, the 15th ranked Columbia College women's basketball team traveled to Fulton, Missouri to take on the Owls from William Woods University in an intense conference game. The Owls brought their A game to the court, defeating the Cougars 68-63. Columbia is now 17-4 on the season and 13-2 in conference play.

The Cougars found themselves in unfamiliar territory being down at the half which has only happened three times so far this season. The Owls brought a completely new team to the court from what the Cougars had faced the first time this season only allowing Columbia to take the lead once in the first half before heading to the locker room with a six-point advantage.

Columbia had a strong third quarter coming from behind to take a one-point lead before heading into the final quarter of the game. Both teams were evenly matched in the final quarter going shot-for-shot up until the final twenty seconds of the game when the Owls scored four unanswered points to claim the victory.

Key Moment
The Cougars, forced to foul in the final seconds, sent the Owls to the line where they made all four free throws to put away the victory.
