Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College women's soccer team captured their fifth win of the season on Saturday afternoon, 8-0. The Cougars move to 5-0 overall, and 4-0 in the AMC.
The Scoring
Jewel Morelan recorded the first goal for the Cougars, assisted by
Mallory Holzer and
Reese Hamilton, 1-0.
With 22 minutes on the clock,
Reese Hamilton connected with a goal, giving Columbia a 2-0 lead. The goal was assisted by
Delfina Zolesio Fernandez Blanco and
Emilia Zolesio Fernandez Blanco.
A successful penalty kick by
Maddie Ballard secured the final goal of the first half, 3-0.
Brianna Heath captured a goal assisted by
Natalie Zoellner, extending the Cougar lead, 4-0.
As a result of a hand ball on the Trojans,
Mallory Holzer connected on a penalty kick, 5-0.
Natalie Peng found
Natalie Zoellner for a goal, 6-0.
Seconds later,
Delfina Zolesio Fernandez Blanco captured a goal, assisted by
Natalie Zoellner, 7-0.
Recording her second goal of the contest,
Reese Hamilton extended Columbia's lead, 8-0. The goal was assisted by
Delfina Zolesio Fernandez Blanco and
Jewel Morelan.
