Columbia, Mo. – This morning the 2020 Academic All-America® NAIA Softball team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), was announced. For her efforts academically and athletically, Columbia College junior Lexi Dickerson was named Second Team.

The NAIA Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 NAIA Academic All-America® teams. Despite the cancellation of spring competition during COVID-19, CoSIDA continued its sponsorship of the Academic All-America® awards program. Student-athletes were selected based on career statistics.

Dickerson, a pitcher, started the year with a 4-2 record on the mount with a 1.78 ERA in the 2020 season. She pitched for a total of 39.1 innings while only allowing 35 hits and 10 earned runs. Dickerson also struck out 32 batters of 169 batters faced. Throughout her three years she has posted a record of 38-12 on the mound. Career accolades include AMC Academic All-Conference three times, First Team All-AMC, AMC Pitcher of the Year, and NFCA NAIA All-Region Second Team.
