Columbia, Mo. – Columbia College men's basketball improved to 9-3 overall and 3-1 in the American Midwest Conference (AMC) after a convincing 74-63 win over Lyon (Ark.) on Tuesday evening.
The first 10 minutes of the game was fairly even, as the biggest lead came with 11:37 remaining in the half, when a field goal by
Tony Burks put the Cougars up 10-7.
The two teams battled, but Columbia took a 34-25 lead into the halftime break.
Columbia pushed its lead to double-figures after a 3-pointer by
Jack Fritsche made the score 41-29. The Cougars held a double-digit lead for most of the remainder and won 74-63.
By the Numbers:
51 – The Cougars shot 51.1-percent from the field.
15 – Columbia had 15 assists on their 24 field goals.
32-28 – The rebound battle was pretty even, but Columbia held a slight advantage
