Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College men's basketball team improved to 14-4 overall and -2 in the American Midwest Conference (AMC) with a convincing 79-56 win against Hannibal-LaGrange. The Cougars have now won four-straight and 8-of-9.
The Cougars came out of the gates strong, scoring 15 of the games first 17 points. The Trojans bounced back with a 13-5 run and got within five points at 20-15. The Cougars were able to hang on to the lead for the rest of the half and took a 34-26 lead into the halftime break.
Columbia quickly extended its lead back to double figures at 38-28. The Cougars lead would stay in double digits the rest of the way. Columbia continued its domination, as the lead grew to the 30-point plateau (74-44) with 3:26 remaining. The Cougars held on for the 23-point win (79-56).
