St. Louis, Mo. – The Columbia College women's basketball team defeated the Harris-Stowe (Mo.) Hornets, 67-54. The Cougars are on the season 11-4 and 9-2 in the American Midwest Conference (AMC).

Harris-Stowe took an early lead to start the first quarter. The Cougars were able to take back the lead at the five-minute mark at 7-6. The two teams traded the lead three times. The Hornets lead, 22-12 at the end of the first.

The second quarter started by both teams going point for point. The Cougars outscored the Hornets 16-11 in the second period, shrinking the Hornets lead five, 33-28, to end the second quarter.
 
The Hornets pushed their lead out to 12 in the third, 40-28. Columbia fought back to within one point, 47-46, to end the quarter.
 
Columbia regained the lead in the fourth period with 9:51 remaining, 48-47. The Hornets tied the game at 50-50, but the Cougars regained the lead for good at 52-50. Columbia extended the lead to 13, 67-54, with 35-seconds left.
