Baseball Goes 1-1 in Batesville; Splits Four-Game Series

Batesville, Ark. - The Columbia College baseball team went 1-1 for the second-straight day against Lyon (Ark.). The Cougars are now 11-4 overall and 2-2 in the American Midwest Conference (AMC).

T1 (CC) – Kenny Piper led off the game with a double, moved to third on a single by Brad Prebay and scored on a Lyon error. (CC 1, Lyon 0)
B2 (Lyon) – The Scots tied the game on an RBI single (CC 1, Lyon 1)
T3 (CC) – Dalton Bealmer hit a solo home run. (CC 2, Lyon 1)
B4 (Lyon) – The Scots added six runs in their half of the fourth (CC 2, Lyon 8)

Game 1 Turning Point
A seven-run fourth inning for the Scots increased their lead to 8-2. 
 
Game 2 Turning Point
A six-run top of the fifth inning, capped off by a Justin Randle home run, gave the Cougars the lead.
 
Game 1 Individual Leaders
Four different players recorded a hit for Columbia, while two of the four hits went for extra bases. Kenny Piper and Dalton Bealmer scored the two runs, and Bealmer picked up the only RBI. 
 
Game 2 Individual Leaders
Columbia had three players record multi-hit games – Kenny Piper (3-for-4), Kendrick Delima (2-for-4), Justin Randle (2-for-4) and Kole Ficken (2-for-4). Josiah Imhoff picked up the win tossing 3.1 innings, allowing no runs and no hits, and he struck out two.
