Softball Extends Win-Streak to 21

Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College softball team picked up a pair of wins against Hannibal-LaGrange on Friday afternoon. The Cougars have now won 21-straight.

Before the game, the Cougars softball team, coaches and Columbia College athletics department recognized the team's five seniors – Kacy Bergfeld, Lexi Dickerson, Allison Keen, Konnor Arrowood and Carli Buschjost.

Final Score Game 1: Columbia 8, Hannibal-LaGrange 0
Final Score Game 2: Columbia 5, Hannibal-LaGrange 1

The Scoring – Game 1
B1 – 
Allison Keen hit a two-out RBI single (CC 1, HLGU 0)
B2 – 
Jodi Polly scored a run on a suicide squeeze by Taylor Barnes. Kacy Bergfeld and Mackenzie Kasarda added RBI hits in the inning. (CC 5, HLGU 0)
B3 – 
Carli Buschjost hit a triple, scoring Karolina Arbova(CC 6, HLGU 0)
B4 – 
Bergfeld and Avgustina Arbova scored runs in the inning. (CC 8, HLGU 0)

The Trojans scored one run with the help of a couple of errors (CC 0, HLGU 1)

Game 1 Turning Point
A four-run second inning increased the Cougar lead.

Game 2 Turning Point
After giving up a run in the top of the first, the Cougars answered with three runs in the bottom half of the inning.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Lexi Dickerson earned the win tossing a complete-game one-hit shutout with seven strikeouts. Ten different players had at least one hit for Columbia, while Kacy Bergfeld, Avgustina Arbova and Carli Buschjost led with two hits.

Game 2 Individual Leaders
Alyssa Roll went seven innings with a couple of strikeouts, picking up the win. Mackenzie Kasarda led the team with two hits and two RBIs.

The Cougars travel to St. Louis to face Missouri Baptist on Saturday, April 17 at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
