Canton, Missouri - The Columbia College men's basketball team competed against Iowa Wesleyan this afternoon on Day 2 of the Fairfield Inn Classic.
The Cougars led 39-33 at the half, with a last second three-pointer by
Tony Burks. They shot 60 percent in the first half, while Iowa Wesleyan shot 48 percent.
The Tigers produced 18 points in the paint in the second half, keeping the Cougars to just eight points down low. Columbia led by as many as seven two minutes into the second half after a successful shot from
Collin Parker behind the arc, 42-35. The Tigers made adjustments of their own and would take their first lead of the half with a fast break from Victor Munoz, 46-44. Iowa Wesleyan held onto their advantage the rest of the way, generating a 73-64 victory over Columbia.
Collin Parker and
Carson Parker each produced 12 points for the Cougars, leading the team with a combined 24 points.
Tony Burks brought down five rebounds and dished out four assists.
Columbia moves to 3-2 on the season and will continue action against Central Methodist (Mo.) at home on Tuesday, November 15 at 7:30 p.m.
