Gulf Shores, Ala. – The No. 6-ranked Columbia College softball team went 1-1 on Sunday, the final day of the Gulf Coast Invite.  
 
Columbia is now 7-8 on the season.
 
Game 1 (Sunday): (RV) Webber International def. (6) Columbia, 7-0
The Scoring:

• T4 (WIU) – The Warriors scored first on a wild pitch (CC 0, WIU 1)
• T5 (WIU) – Webber scored four runs highlighted by a 2-run single. (CC 0, WIU 5)
• T7 (WIU) – Two more runs for the Warriors increased their lead (CC 0, WIU 7)

 
Individual Leaders:

• Athena Wheeler, Abigail Pringer, and Emily King combined for the three Cougar hits.
• Wheeler had the lone extra base hit, a double in the fourth inning.

 
Game 2 (Sunday): (6) Columbia def. Bethel, 4-2
The Scoring:

• B2 (CC) – Jacey Meyer scored an unearned run (CC 1, BU 0)
• T3 (BU) – Bethel scored two runs (CC 1, BU 2)
• B4 (CC) – Abigail Pringer singled home Skyler Kauble and later scored on an error (CC 3, BU 2)
• B6 (CC) – Taylor Barnes hit a sac fly to center field, scoring Karolina Arbova. (CC 4, BU 2)

 
Individual Leaders:

• Abigail Pringer and Mackenzie Kasarda had two hits each.
• Taylor Barnes and Pringer picked up an RBI each.
• Barnes added a stolen base
• Ella Schouten tossed 7.0 innings, allowing two earned runs on two hits and striking out eight.

The Cougars travel to McPherson, Kansas to compete in the McPherson Classic. A new schedule for the tournament will be released later this week.
