Oklahoma City, Okla. – The #16-ranked Columbia College women's soccer team ended their weekend road trip a matchup against the Evangels of Mid-America Christian University. The Cougars (2-3-1) scored twice in the second-half to defeat the Evangels (1-5-0).
The Cougars offense smothered the Evangels defense as they put up 22 team shots, with 11 of them being on goal.
In the 50
th-minute, a build up play with
Macie Lucas and
Juana Wulff finished with a goal from
Madeleine Shylanski, her first of the season.
With the 1-0 lead, the Cougars kept the offensive pressure on. Late in the game,
Kailyn Sheehan punched in a ball to
Isabella Govero who was able to convert and find the back of the net.
In goal,
Kate Marshall provided a clean-sheet with four saves.
