COLUMBIA, Mo. - The (RV) Columbia College volleyball team saw midday action against Williams Baptist University (Ark.) with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-12, 25-16) sweep. 

The Cougars improve to 15-10 on the season and 4-0 in the American Midwest Conference (AMC).

Set by set, Columbia gradually ramped-up their offense.

In the opening set of play, the Cougars and Eagles each produced 13 kills apiece. Columbia, however, hit .257 to .233 from Williams Baptist.

The Cougars and the Eagles went neck-and-neck until the Cougars recorded a 6-0 run late in the first set. Columbia took the 25-21 advantage.

In set two, the Cougars outperformed the Eagles, notching 14 kills. The Cougars dominated the second set of play, hitting .344 while holding Williams Baptist to a negative hitting percentage. Columbia recorded a late second set run, notching five consecutive points. A kill from Ava Shepard claimed set two for Columbia, 25-12.

Columbia tallied their highest hitting percentage of the match in the third and final set, hitting .455 with 17 kills. The Cougars went on to win the game 25-16.

Alayna Rooks put down 11 kills hitting .556, while Allana Capella recorded 10 kills hitting .556.

Taylor Johnson recorded three aces.

Hannah Vogt captured 20 assists, while Alexa Olson followed with 17 assists.

Isabella Kincaid secured 10 digs.

Columbia returns to action in a home matchup against Crowley's Ridge College (Ark.) on October 18 at 6:00 PM.
