St. Louis, MO - The Columbia College volleyball fell to the Spartans of Missouri Baptist University today in the championship game of the American Midwest Conference tournament today.
After taking the first set, the Cougars were unable to contain the AMC Player of the Year Gabi Jakubowska as the Spartans would take the next three sets for the win.
Columbia, now 23-12 overall, will wait to learn their NAIA National Tournament Opening Round draw until the Selection Show on November 18th as 12:00PM.
The Cougars were unable to handle the service pressure from the Spartans as Missouri Baptist totaled 13 service aces to just four from Columbia.
Defensively, the Cougars were able to out-block and out-dig the Spartans 8-6 and 47-42, respectively.
With Missouri Baptist University set to just the Heart of America Conference next season, today's conference tournament match marked the last of a dynamic rivalry between the two teams.
