No. 7-Seeded Women's Soccer Defeat Drovers, Advance to Round of 16

COLUMBIA, Mo. - In the Second Round of the National Association of Intercolliegiate Athletics (NAIA) Women's Soccer Championships, the No. 7-seeded Columbia College women's soccer team shutout the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, 2-0.

Columbia improves to 18-1-1 on the season.

The Cougars scored both goals in the first half of action, as Riley Porter got things started with a goal in the 23rd minute. The goal, assisted by Macie Lucas and Delfina Zolesio Fernandez Blanco, also deemed Porter's 23rd of the season. This gave the Cougars a 1-0 advantage.

Macie Lucas headed in a goal of her own just before halftime in the 39th minute, assisted by Maci Vincent and Delfina Zolesio Fernandez Blanco. This was the final goal of the match, as the Cougars shutout the Drovers, 2-0.

With two assists on the day, Delfina Zolesio Fernandez Blanco earned her 20th assist of the season.

Columbia added nine shots in the first half, outperforming Science and Arts of Oklahoma who took three.

The second half of action saw similar stats, as the Cougars recorded eight shots to the Drovers two.

Natalie Allison recorded two saves through 90 minutes of action.

Columbia will play the winner of No. 10-seeded Oklahoma Wesleyan and MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) in Pensacola, Fla. on December 2nd or 3rd. Official time and date are TBA.
