Columbia, MO - The Columbia College men's basketball team played host to the Vikings of Missouri Valley College tonight in non-conference action.
With the win, Columbia improves to 6-3 overall while Missouri Valley falls to 2-7.
The Cougars led from start to finish in the contest as they took their first lead with a made jumper from
Collin Parker just 16-seconds into the game.
Although the Vikings kept it close in many statistical categories, they fell short in shooting percentage as they shot a dismal 32% from the field, while Columbia was 49% from the field and 43% from the three-point line.
Five different players finished in double-digit scoring for the Cougars led by
Collin Parker's 29 points on 11-19 shooting.
Kai Steinman and
Nate Brandt followed with 14 points each, respectively, as Brandt set a new-career high in scoring.
Carson Parker and
Seth Larson both totaled 10 points each as well.
Defensively,
Carson Parker's 11 rebounds led the way for Columbia as
Beau Washer followed with nine.
