Cougars Draw With Golden Eagles

Siloam Springs, Arkansas - Columbia College picked up a tie today on the road as they took on the Golden Eagles of John Brown University.

The Cougars move to 4-1-2 on the season while the Golden Eagles fall to 3-0-4.

Columbia plays next at home on September 28th when they open American Midwest Conference play with a home contest against Hannibal-LaGrange University.

The Golden Eagles controlled the pace early as they registered six first-half shots to three from the Cougars.

Goalkeeper Alejandro Molto Munoz made all three saves to keep the game scoreless at the half.

In the 66th-minute, Joao Pimenta played a ball to Brady Freeman inside the box as Freeman was able to convert to give Columbia the 1-0 lead.

Not even three minutes later, the Golden Eagles were able to level the match after taking a shot at the top of the box that found the open left side of the goal, tying the match 1-1.

From there, both teams traded shots on goal with no one able to capitalize.

John Brown had one final look with a corner kick under three minutes left to play, but Molto Munoz made an incredible save at the goal line to preserve the tie.
