Siloam Springs, Arkansas - The 10th-ranked Cougars of Columbia College improved their away game record to 3-0 today with a win over the 12th-ranked Golden Eagles of John Brown University.
With the win, the Cougars moved to 5-1-1 overall while John Brown dropped to 3-4-1.
Columbia will play its first American Midwest Conference game on October 5th when they travel to Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis, Missouri.
Delfina Zolesio Fernandez Blanco got the scoring started early for the Cougars as she netted the first goal just nine minutes into the game off of an assist from
Riley Porter.
Shortly after that,
Delaynie Brown registered her first goal of the season off of another assist from
Riley Porter, giving the Cougars a very early 2-0 lead.
The Golden Eagles would end up out-shooting the Cougars in the first-half, 4-3, but goalkeeper
Natalie Allison registered three saves to keep the score at 2-0 at the half.
