WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - The Columbia College men's basketball team gathered their tenth conference win of the season this evening against Williams Baptist University (Ark.), 98-75.
Carson Parker scored a career-high of 24 points to lead all scorers.
The Cougars improve to 17-5 on the season and 10-2 in the American Midwest Conference (AMC). The Eagles move to 4-14 overall and 1-11 in the AMC.
Columbia shot nearly 52 percent from the field, while Williams Baptist shot roughly 44 percent. The Cougars added 44 points in the paint, while the Eagles posted 22.
Collin Parker made nine of Columbia's 11 points to begin the contest, obtaining an early 11-6 advantage.
The Cougars found themselves up by 13 with 6:04 remaining in the first half, notching a 40-27 lead.
Williams Baptist made way at the Columbia edge, down seven with 1:33 on the clock.
Into the locker rooms, the Cougars held a 53-42 advantage.
A 9-0 momentum swing would put the Eagles within six, but back-to-back three's from
Tommy Hafer shutdown the Williams Baptist drive.
Columbia continued to make way at their lead, taking their largest lead of the day with 5:36 remaining on the clock, 90-65.
The Cougars won it by a final of 98-75.
Carson Parker shot 9-11 from the field, while shooting a perfect 6-6 from the charity stripe.
Collin Parker produced a double-double, scoring 21 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.
Beau Washer brought down nine rebounds in the contest.
The Cougars return to action on February 1 at 1:00 PM against Crowley's Ridge College (Ark.) in Paragould, Ark.
