Cougars Offense Dominates in 8-0 Victory Over Hannibal-LaGrange

Hannibal, Mo. - Columbia College women's soccer show dominate performance in 8-0 road victory on Tuesday afternoon. The Cougars move to 8-4-2 overall and 3-0-1 in AMC play. 

The Cougars wasted no time taking control, scoring three goals in the first seven minutes. Cassidy Head struck twice in the opening 20 seconds before Adna Mahdi made it 3-0 at the 6:57 mark. 

Columbia kept the pressure on in the second half with five more goals. Head completed her hat trick with a penalty kick in the 51st minute, while Macie Vincent also contributed two goals in the 46th and 60th minutes. 

The offensive onslaught was relentless as Columbia fired 40 shots compared to just three for Hannibal-LaGrange. The Cougars also dominated possession with eight corner kicks to one for the home team.

Goalkeeper Natalie Allison earned the win, needing to make just one save over her 45 minutes of work. Abbie Summers played the second half and made one save as well.

Columbia outshot the Trojans 40-3 and held a decisive 21-1 advantage in shots on goal. Head's three goals led the way, while Madeleine Shylanski, Renata Mendez, and Bleda Beto each contributed two assists.

The Cougars will be back in Columbia for their last home game of the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 25th at 12:00 p.m. against Williams Baptist.
